A1 Passive Fire specialises in delivering comprehensive, cost-effective solutions across residential, commercial, civil, aged care, medical, educational, retail, and government projects. With decades of expertise, our skilled team ensures every installation achieves the required Fire Resistant Levels (FRLs) while meeting all industry standards and regulations.

Our focus on compliance, quality, and precision sets us apart as trusted partners in safeguarding buildings and protecting lives. Whether it’s a new build or refurbishment, we provide tailored strategies to meet the unique fire safety needs of each project.

Ensuring fire safety compliance

Beyond installation, we support builders and property owners with certification, audits, and rectification services to ensure long-term compliance. Our thorough inspections identify critical and non-critical defects, backed by clear reports, cost analysis, and photographic evidence.

We also provide maintenance services, including fire-resistant doors, shutters, walls, barriers, fire collars, and dampers. By combining technical excellence with a proactive approach, we keep your building safe, compliant, and fully protected against the risk of fire.

Our services

At A1 Passive Fire, we take a complete project lifecycle approach. from initial design through to installation and certification, ensuring compliance, efficiency, and peace of mind at every stage.

Design

Our licensed Certifiers work with the architects and fire engineers to ensure the building design and specification adheres to relevant BCA regulations and Australian standards and is specified to the lowest possible cost.

Construction

Our team of technicians work with other trades and the principle building contractor to ensure our installations are able to be completed with minimal fuss and/or interruptions. Our technicians work to the highest standard of safety to ensure the project gets completed on time and on budget every time.

Certification

Together our Project Manager & Fire Certifier closely monitor the installation process on every job to ensure the works are completed in strict accordance with the appropriate clauses of the BCA, Australian Standards and manufacturers specifications. We also offer managed certification services for penetrations installed by others where regulations permit.

Rectification & maintenance

We perform rectification and maintenance work so your building remains compliant with relevant fire containment and compartmentalisation safety standards.

This includes: Fire-resistant doors, windows, shutters and access panels; Fire and smoke barriers such as fire-rated walls, block work walls, fire-rated ceilings, TBA Firefly cavity fire barriers and fire dampers; Fire-stopping elements such as fire-rated board encasements, fire collars, construction joint seals and switch box penetration seals.

Audits & reports compliation

During our compliance/essential services inspections, we are able to determine the compliant and non-compliant works.

We also provide a comprehensive report outlining the critical and non-critical defects, together with rectification works required to bring everything up to code and our overall price to complete these works. This full itemised audit report is complete with cost analysis and photographic evidence.

Installation

We install passive fire equipment and structures in any new or existing building. If it’s an existing building and we find works to be incorrectly installed, we’ll fix them so they comply.

Fire sealing of electrical, plumbing and communication penetrations to fire-rated elements to achieve the required fire rating level; Application of fire-rated gypsum/vermiculite spray to beams, columns, hollow areas, ducts and exhausts; Application of intumescent fire-rated paint to steel members

A1 Managed Certifications

Design, installation and certification of passive fire systems is too important to leave to chance. Too often, it’s handled by multiple sub-contractors without proper training — leading to rejections, costly overruns, and last-minute rectification work.

Our Managed Certification service streamlines the process, saving builders and developers time, money, and stress. By integrating design, construction oversight, and paperwork management, we ensure compliance is achieved seamlessly and without delay.
